Hole Eleven
PAR 4, 330 M, INDEX 6
Hole Eleven
Hole Descriptions
Hole 11 is a relatively short par 4, but is a little more challenging than its length may suggest. It doglegs to the right and is substantially uphill on the second half of the hole.
The tee shot must be directed down a narrow chute over small ornamental pond to a fairway that is ringed by 3 bunkers. The intelligent play will be to position the tee shot just past the first bunker on the left side and short of the next two bunkers, the furthest of them which is about 280 metres from the tee, and severely uphill, an obvious challenge for the longer hitters.
The green on hole 11 is positioned some 10 metres above the level of the fairway, and the closer the tee shot is poisoned to the green, the less of a view and the tougher the approach shot to the green will be.
The green itself does not have any bunkers close to it, and is an undulating uphill affair with steep slopes on three sides; an arrangement reminiscent of many of the traditional links courses of the UK.
Golfers will often not be able to see their ball land on the green, but it will be imperative to finish below the hole on the approach shot, as any recovery shots from the rear or right of the green will see a very tricky downhill challenge.
