Hole Descriptions
Hole 5 is a downhill dogleg right golf hole, which will be very pleasing to the eye. Played in regulation, it will likely be the easiest hole on the course, as there is a wide fairway short of the 230 metre mark and ample bail-out area short right of the green.
The challenge of the golf hole will be brought upon those who choose to attack, in search of birdie. Two , strategically placed bunkers on the left and right side of the fairway marks a level change as well as a narrowing of the fairway. This will challenge anyone who endeavours to hit their ball further than 230 metres off the tee, but conversely, for those who take the risk and just miss the bunkers, they stand a chance to gain extra length and the prospect of a short chip and putt for birdie.
The green itself has water on the left and rear, obviously providing challenge for any pin positions in these parts of the green, and with greenside bunkers at the front left and to the right of the green, the front pin position could become the most difficult of all.
A very picturesque hole, the 5th will provide many birdies, but just as many bogies or worse.

LOCAL RULE
The Game of Golf shall be played in accordance with the rules as approved by R&A Ltd and the Local Rule of Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club.
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27-1)
1.1 Beyond the boundary of the course.
1.2 As indicated by white stakes and / or lines. Where the lines exist, the line defines the OB.

2. WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26)
2.1 Water hazards - defined by yellow stakes and/or lines.
2.2 Lateral water hazards - defined by red stakes and/or lines.
3. DROP ZONE
3.1 Hole # 12 – If a ball is in or it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has been found is in water hazard, the player may:
- Proceed under Rule 26; or
- As an additional option, you may drop a ball, under penalty of one stroke, in the drop zone.
4. GROUND UNDER REPAIR (Rule 24-1)
4.1 Areas encircled by white lines.
4.2 Bare areas in bunkers caused by erosion.
4.3 Deep tire-ruts.
4.4 Ground damaged by wild animal and abnormal ground conditions.
4.5 Temporary drainage channels on the course.
5. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTION (Rule 24-2)
The ball may be lifted and dropped without penalty within one club length from the nearest point of relief where such point is not nearer to the hole.
5.1 All buggy tracks or service road
- Drains attached to buggy track are part of the buggy track.
- Bare patches of ground within one club length of buggy track considered part of buggy track.
5.2 Rain shelters, halfway huts, bridges, floodlights, concrete sumps, sprinkler heads, water-control valves, sand station bins, signage and exposed drainage pipes.
5.3 Flower Beds
5.4 Young trees marked by green paint or supported by stakes.
5.5 Distance markers, tee signage and directional sign.
6. MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
(RULE 24-1)
6.1 Stones and pebbles in bunkers
6.2 Hazard stakes
7. EMBEDDED BALL THROUGH THE GREEN
7.1 Through the green, a ball which embedded in its own pitch mark in the ground other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer to the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green.
