Hole Thirteen

PAR 4, 399 M, INDEX 14

Hole Thirteen

Hole Descriptions

Hole 13 is the longest par 4 on the course, and probably the toughest for the average player. The tee shot, played from the edge of the pond is a slightly uphill affair, on a hole that doglegs slightly from right to left. The longer hitter will endeavour to hit a slight draw that starts on a central line and splits the two fairway bunkers that are positioned on either side of the fairway, the one on the right being furthest from the tee.

The best line to approach the green will generally be the centre-left of the fairway, as the green is slightly elevated and angled from left to right, with 3 gentle steps along its length. There are two bunkers on the left side of the green, and some gentle hollows on the right of the green.

The best approach will therefore be a drawn tee shot finishing on the left (or any shape for those who lay up short of the left side bunker) followed by a faded mid iron approach to the green.

Being a fairly long hole for the average player, a small, but receptive area has been provided beside the front greenside bunker, short of the green. This will facilitate a run-on shot for the accurate shorter hitter.

A good, strong, and quite strategic hole, a par on the 13th will be valued by most golfers.
